One person died in a collision on Highway 195 about five miles outside of Pullman earlier today.

Washington State Patrol Trooper Jeff Sevigny said the person died after their car collided with a semi-truck near milepost 15 on Highway 195.

“So far, we have one confirmed fatality,” he said. “One occupant of the car that was involved was transported to Spokane via air ambulance with serious injuries.”

Sevigny said officers believe the person who died was driving the vehicle when it collided with the semi.

Officers closed the roadway and set up a detour as they investigate the crash scene.

“It is my understanding that the detour in place takes traffic around with no difficulties, so you shouldn’t see too many delays,” he said.

The identity of the deceased has not been released as officers are attempting to notify next of kin.
