Suspected NFL football player arrested in Pullman

A man was arrested Monday evening after walking out of Dissmore’s with sushi and Mike’s Hard Lemonade.

The man, Toussaint L’Ouverture Tyler, has the same full name, age, date of birth and physical description of the former NFL and University of Washington running back. Police were unable to confirm it was the same person.

After walking out of Dissmore’s, a loss prevention employee stopped Tyler in the parking lot, and kept him there until police arrived.

Tyler played running back at UW for four seasons, and was drafted by the Saints in 1981. His NFL career lasted two years.

Pullman Police charged Tyler with third degree theft, and Sgt. Dan Hargraves said he was cooperative during the arrest.
