An interview committee made up of staff members, parents and other administrators have recommended Jim Bruce for the open position as principal of Jefferson Elementary School.

Bruce was one of four finalist for the position, according to a Pullman Schools news release. The Pullman School District Board of Directors will consider the recommendation at a board meeting Wednesday.

The interview committee included a board member, two parents, four staff members, school administrators and two district instructional coaches selected at random, according to the news release.

Students from the school said Bruce “treats everybody with the way he wants to be treated,” according to the release. Feedback from guests, including many staff members at the school, favored Bruce.

Bruce currently serves as principal at Sacajawea Elementary in Richland.
