Scholarship created in honor of WSU student

From staff reports

In memory of WSU veterinary medicine student Jessica Brooks, who died in a car crash over winter break, the WSU veterinary medicine class of 2017 created an endowment scholarship in her name.

According to the WSU Giving to the College of Veterinary website, the Jessica Brooks Memorial Scholarship was created as a living memory of her life and the lives she touched.

The scholarship is for third or fourth-year students who demonstrate commitment to help improve the lives of animals and their owners through community service, fear-free practice and dedication to fulfilling the Veterinarian’s Oath- all of which Brooks was passionate about and committed to.

The selection has preference toward previously homeschooled students or students who demonstrate financial need as well as preference for students who have mixed animal or feline interest. You can donate to the fund on the Giving to the College of Veterinary Medicine website.
