A WSU senior veterinary student died in a car crash Tuesday morning on Washington  State Route 26 just outside of Colfax.

Jessica Brooks, 26, was driving west in a Kia Sportage when the car struck a semi truck driven by Timothy Dean, 52, in the eastbound lane. Brooks died at the scene.

According to a Washington State Patrol report, both were wearing seatbelts and no alcohol or drugs were involved. Brooks was reported to have been driving too fast for snowy conditions.
