Second COVID-19 case confirmed
Patient is second in county to get positive result; Thirty-four have tested negative so far
A 70- 79-year-old female was identified Monday morning as the second patient with a confirmed positive case of COVID-19 in Whitman County, according to a press release from Whitman County Emergency Operations Center.
Health officials are working to identify people who may have been in contact with the patient.
The first case of COVID-19 was confirmed Sunday. The patient is a 20-29 year old female.
At least 34 people have tested negative for the virus, according to the Whitman County Department of Health website.
According to the release, people with questions about the virus may call 1-800-525-0127 and press # to access the Washington State Department of Health’s COVID-19 call center.
Whitman County Health Department will continue providing updates via its COVID-19 website and Facebook page.
