Shots fired on College Hill during fight

From staff reports

An unknown individual allegedly fired three shots into the air during a fight in the parking lot of Cougar Crest Apartments at about 3 a.m. Sunday.

Pullman Police Cmdr. Chris Tennant said the initial call came in at 3:13 a.m. He said police were told there was a large fight in progress involving about 50 people and gunshots had been fired.

Tennant said when police arrived on the scene a large amount of people were leaving and nobody would give any details of the fight, including who fired the gun. Police were able to find three spent nine millimeter shells in the parking lot.

Tennant said police were later able to talk to an individual who was not involved in the fight and who witnessed the gunshots from a few buildings away. He said the witness confirmed somebody pulled out a gun, pointed it into the air and fired three times during the fight in the parking lot.

Tennant said no one was hurt and no property damage resulted from the shots fired. The case is under investigation.
