Damages made to city park

Vandalism occurred in the Spring Street Park late the night of Jan. 15, leaving an estimated $500 of damage.

Pullman Police Cmdr. Chris Tennant said a four-wheel-drive pick-up truck drove into the park, leaving large ruts and tearing up the park’s grass.

“It’s not uncommon for people to take a four-wheel-drive out into a wheat field and go mudding, but I think it’s extremely rude for people to do it downtown in Pullman in one of the city parks,” Tennant said.

Parks and Recreation have leveled off the area, but because of the cold temperatures cannot complete repairs until spring.

Tennant said this is an ongoing investigation and there are currently no suspects. Police are looking for any information to help with this case.
