Child porn found on former WSU staff computer

From staff reports

A former employee of Washington State University has been charged with storing and sharing child pornography using his work computer.

Michael Severns, 51, of Potlatch, Idaho, was involved in an online child pornography sharing network. Moscow police investigating the network discovered a sexually explicit video of a 5-year-old girl from June of last year.

They were able to trace the downloading IP address of the video to a work computer in WSU Housing and Dining Services belonging to Severns. After searching the computer they found more similar videos and images.

Severns received three felony charges last week of possessing and dealing child pornography and will appear in Whitman County Court Friday, April 24.
