The three best residence halls on campus were voted to be, in first place, Northside, in second, Wilmer-Davis, and third, Stephenson. 

Northside residence hall is the newest of all residence halls on campus, built just two years ago.

As a newer hall, it was built with a lot of community features in mind, Tattershall said.

There is a kitchen and lounge located in each wing, and laundry amenities on each floor.

Wilmer-Davis, the oldest of the three, was built in 1937.

“Wilmer-Davis has a lot of character,” said Bob Tattershall, director of Housing and Conference Services.

Wilmer-Davis also houses many sorority women, as it is close to Greek Row, said Tattershall.

Rounding out the top-three residence halls is Stephenson. Stephenson was built in 1966 and had its East wing added in 1969. It houses many science, math, and engineering majors.

With those programs as its focus, it offers tutoring services for its residents.

“(Stephenson) has unique design with about 22 students on each floor,” Tattershall said.
