Cougar Health Services offers flu shots by appointment starting this week
Students can register through CHS patient portal; getting flu shot is more important than ever during COVID-19 pandemic
October 1, 2021
Cougar Health Services offers flu shots every Friday through the month of October starting today.
Students can make an appointment for a flu shot through the CHS patient portal. Staff and their family members can schedule an appointment through Range Community Clinic, according to the CHS website.
Flu shots will be provided Oct. 1, Oct. 15 and Oct. 22 at the Elson S. Floyd Cultural Center. The rest of Flu Shot Fridays will be held at the Chinook Student Center, according to the website.
People should stay home if they have been in direct contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or if they have any symptoms, according to the website.
People should bring their CougarCard or Photo ID and proof of insurance to the appointment, according to the website. If someone does not have insurance, they can call the CHS billing office.
Getting the flu shot is more crucial than ever with COVID-19 still being present. COVID-19 and influenza cases can overwhelm hospitals, according to the website. In addition, people could test positive for COVID-19 and have the flu at the same time. Getting a flu shot can help to reduce both of these things from happening.
