Deputies seize illegal drugs during Colfax traffic stop

500 fentanyl tablets, possible other drugs found in vehicle; driver arrested with intent to deliver

Whitman County Sheriff’s deputies found 500 fentanyl tablets during a traffic stop in downtown Colfax early Wednesday morning.

Joshua Bewick, 31, of Pullman, was pulled over while driving south through Colfax, where deputies discovered his license was suspended, according to a Moscow-Pullman Daily News article. 

Deputies allegedly found heroin, scales, money and an unknown powdery substance, according to the article. Bewick was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. 

Deputies suspected illegal narcotics were in the vehicle and were meant to be distributed in Pullman based on the information Bewick gave to them, according to the article. 

Bewick appeared in Superior Court Wednesday afternoon, according to the article. He is being held in custody with a bail of $150,000.
