Student allegedly brought empty gun case on campus

From staff reports

WSU police escorted a WSU student home after he brought a gun case onto campus on Tuesday.

Assistant police Chief Steve Hansen said the student was trying to make a point and get attention.

“He was just trying to draw attention to himself,” Hansen said, “and he accomplished that.”

The incident took place around 1:15 p.m. in Todd Hall, and police determined the case was empty.

“You could tell by lifting it,” he said.

Hansen said police gave the student a ride home.
