City of Pullman to open emergency cooling shelter

Shelter is open June 26 to 29; city may extend availability dates

The City of Pullman will open an emergency cooling shelter from June 26 to 29.

The shelter will be open from noon to 8 p.m. The shelter is located in the Pullman Senior Center, on the new Pullman City Hall campus at 190 SE Crestview St. in Building B, according to a Pullman Police Department press release. 

Individuals who provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination are not required to wear masks or social distance at the shelter. Acceptable proof includes a COVID-19 vaccination card, verification from an entity or health care provider administering the vaccine or a vaccination record from MyIR Mobile, according to the press release.

Unvaccinated individuals must wear a mask and social distance, according to the press release. 

The City of Pullman may extend the cooling shelter’s availability as they see fit. The city will announce updates through news releases and social media. For shelter access, individuals can call the Pullman Police Department at 509-334-0802, according to the press release. 

The shelter will not accommodate any pets or animals, according to the press release.Â
