There are many variations of this dessert, including mint and lime.

As the leaves fall and the atmosphere turns spooky, I decided I needed some recipes and fun treats to match. Perhaps the childhood nostalgia of people talking about their halloween costumes is fueling it, but I have been craving some sort of jello treat and figured it would be best to kill two birds with one stone.

After going through my fair share of internet recipes and blog posts, I have compiled my findings about halloween jello and wish to share them with you. There are plenty of variations on this recipe depending on your taste, but the mint and lime combination stood out as something I hadn’t tried yet. This jello treat is something that won’t be a halloween fright for your wallet and might be the talk of your halloween party.

I would recommend decorating your cup and jello with whatever halloween decorations you can find to get into the ghoulish mood. Walmart has a good stock of decorations for those in need. I was able to score some edible eyeballs and gummy worms that added to the flavor and feel of the desert.

Hope you enjoy it!

INGREDIENTS

  • One box of green jello
  • Five to 10 oreo cookies
  • Three to seven mint chocolate mini-bars
  • Gummy worms
  • Water
  • Measuring cups
  • Mixing bowl
  • Halloween decoration

INSTRUCTIONS

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Set Time: 4 hours

  • Begin boiling 2 cups of water in a saucepan. While the water is heating up, begin to chop the oreo cookies and mint chocolate bars into tiny pieces. The final result should be fine crumbs so using a mixture of hands and chopping should work well.
  • Fill a bowl with 2 cups of cold water, add the gelatin mixture that comes in the packet to the boiling water and stir in. When it is mostly dissolved, combine into the mixing bowl and stir around.
  • Place the mixing bowl into the refrigerator for 3 to 4 hours or until set.
  • Put half of the oreo and mint chocolate mixture at the bottom of a glass, patting it down into a flat patty.
  • Once the jello is set, add half of the jello into the glass, then the last layer of cookie and the last bit of jello.
  • Add some decorations and some gummy worms for decoration.
  • Enjoy!
