The Eagles are showing why they are true contenders, Bills and Chiefs live up to hype.

The Eagles remain undefeated; the Bills, Vikings and Giants are now 5-1. A start to the NFL season that not many predicted.

Jets vs. Packers:

The New York Jets are at a place that no one saw coming when they began this season, they are 4-2. They beat the Packers on Sunday 27-10.

It seems like Robert Saleh has it figured out as a head coach. The offense is doing well, especially in the running game and the defense is figuring out how to compete at an NFL level, something that Saleh surely takes great pride in.

Zach Wilson has only played in three games this season, but in each of these three games, the Jets have won.

Breece Hall was supposed to break out this season, according to the fantasy community. He has. In this game against the Packers, he had 20 carries for 116 yards and a touchdown along with two grabs for five yards. Michael Carter also had 41 yards and the Jets almost rushed for 200 yards as a team.

Nobody on the Packers really did much, Aaron Rodgers looking absolutely pedestrian, but something he does at the start of every season recently. He threw for 26/41 and one touchdown. Rodgers’ offensive line has looked awful giving up four sacks and a ton of hits on Rodgers in this game.

Ravens vs. Giants:

Perhaps the biggest surprise of the season is the Giants. They beat the Ravens in a close matchup 24-20.

As discussed in an earlier article, Brian Daboll is the Coach of the Year as of now. He has led this Giants team that was 4-13 last season to a 5-1 start.

Daniel Jones who has not looked good his whole career looks serviceable. Similar to how Ryan Tannehill was for the Titans the past years, not a star but not someone who will lose you games.

Jones went 19/27 for 173 yards and two touchdowns. The Giants are FEEDING Saquon and realize that he is the star of this offense. He got 22 carries for 83 yards and a touchdown and caught three passes for 12 yards.

Daboll being an offensive coach has also motivated the defense, because the Ravens’ offense is scary.

They shut down Lamar Jackson to throw 17/32 for 210 yards one touchdown and one interception, also rushing for 77 yards. Kenyan Drake had 119 rushing yards on 10 carries. Most notably, Mark Andrews caught seven passes for 106 yards and a touchdown.

It is very impressive that Daboll and the Giants are this successful so far this season. We will see if it continues and if they can make the playoffs.

Vikings vs. Dolphins:

In the Coach of the Year conversation, the new Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell needs to be mentioned. They are at the top of the league at 5-1 right after beating the Dolphins 24-16.

Kirk Cousins has an alter-ego this year “Big Kirko” as he is rocking a ton of chains on the plane ride after the game.

Cousins has played well all season and threw 20/30 for 175 and two touchdowns in this game. Dalvin Cook gained 77 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries with the longest rush of 53 yards.

Justin Jefferson is astronomical. He is the best receiver in the league by quite a margin this year. He had six grabs for 107 yards. He had one reception of 47 yards. He is top-five in the league in just about every receiving category and leads the league with 11 grabs of 20 yards or more.

The Dolphins don’t look the same without Tua Tagovailoa. Teddy Bridgewater was 23/34 for 329 yards and two touchdowns and two interceptions. The top two receivers fed on this Tyreek Hill with 12 receptions for 177 yards and Jaylen Waddle with six receptions for 129 yards and a 49-yard reception.

But the offense was unable to score points, which is of course vital.

Bills vs. Chiefs:

In perhaps the most anticipated game of the season, the Bills took down the Chiefs 24-20.

The Bills are now 5-1 and the Chiefs 4-2. They are both the top two contenders in the AFC.

Josh Allen went 27/40 for 329 yards and three touchdowns. He led this Bills team to this win and is willing to do anything to get this team a W. Even hurdling defenders.

Stefon Diggs also exploded in this game. He had 10 catches for a total of 148 yards and one touchdown. The Bills’ defense was also disruptive all game.

The Bills genuinely look like a top team in the league. Probably the best.

Juju Smith-Schuster had five receptions for 113 yards and a touchdown, along with Travis Kelce’s consistency who had eight grabs for 108 yards.

Patrick Mahomes threw 25/40 for 338 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. He did not look his best and at the end of the game the thought was that he was going to drive them down the field and score a touchdown to end the game and win, but instead, he threw a game-losing interception that was played incredibly well by the defensive back. The DB read Mahomes eyes the entire way.

This will probably be the AFC Championship Game; these two teams are too good not to compete against each other in the playoffs. It will be another great game to see at the end of the season.
