WSU Athletics announced that two track and field athletes, Elise Unrah-Thomas and Lee Walburn, were named January’s Academic Services Student Athletes of the Month Monday.
Unrah-Thomas is a graduate student who has run with WSU since 2019. Throughout her time with the Cougs, she has found herself within the top 10 all-time program records for the outdoor 200-meter, outdoor 100-meter, indoor 60-meter and indoor 300-meter. Additionally, her 4×400 relay team from 2022 sits at No. 8 in the WSU record book.
A senior humanities major and multi Coug, Walburn has “played a major role on Washington State’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), contributing to conversations regarding the future of conference options for WSU athletes,” according to a WSU Athletics press release.
