The Gateway Project will relaunch Sept. 9 in an effort to build relationships between WSU and downtown Pullman through community engagement.

WSU’s School of Design and Construction will host the event from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Elson S. Floyd Cultural Center, according to WSU Events.

The project provides students with learning experiences while spending time in the community and building relationships with Pullman locals. Students also have the opportunity to share their ideas for potential renovations in Pullman, according to WSU Events.

Steve Austin, WSU scholarly associate professor, started the Gateway Project in 2020. The project is now run by WSU Associate Professor Bob Krikac.

The project will take place downtown, from the Steam Plant on campus to Brelsford WSU Visitor Center then down Main Street.
